IEX Helicopters has been delivering exclusive tours of Southern California and Catalina Island since 1982. Our fleet of six top-of-the-line turbine helicopters fly out of our oceanfront heliport located at the majestic Queen Mary in Long Beach. Our highly experienced pilots offer a safe, fun, informative tour narrating highlights as you view the breathtaking vistas of Catalina Island and along the Southern California coastline.  Along with our six Southern California and Catalina Island tours, we offer Customized Helicopter Tours to fit any special occasion.

Tours can be reserved daily, reservations are required and must be guaranteed with a valid credit card.

A 48-hour cancellation notice is also required.

Los Angeles / Hollywood City Tour

In less than an hour, you will see the highlights of a most fascinating West Coast city. You begin by flying in our helicopter from our exclusive heliport location at the Queen Mary and head West past the busiest ports in the nation: Long Beach and Los Angeles. Turning North you’ll continue along the coastline past LAX for thrilling glimpses of Redondo Beach, King Harbor, Marina Del Rey and Venice Beach. From the Santa Monica pier and amusement park you fly down Sunset Boulevard over the architectural marvel of the Getty Museum. Flying over Bel Air and Hollywood you get a bird’s eye view of the exclusive homes inhabited by famous movie stars. Enjoy the excitement getting close to the popular Hollywood sign, then flying through the skyscrapers of downtown past the L.A. Coliseum, Staples Center and USC campus. Finally, you’re whisked back to our oceanfront heliport where you’ll conclude the tour.

Long Beach To Laguna Beach Tour

If you’re a beach lover, you’ll love this beach to beach tour. Beginning at the heliport in Long Beach, you’ll fly South past the spectacular oceanfront homes in Long Beach, Belmont Shores, the island residences of Naples, and the beach strand called the Peninsula. Continuing down the shimmering Southern California coastline, you’ll pass the city of Seal Beach, the beachfront homes at the gated community of Surfside, and the city of Sunset Beach. As you take in the natural beauty from the air, you’ll go South past the lovely waterfront homes and popular surfing areas of Bolsa Chica, Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, and Corona Del Mar. Next your pilot will fly you to your destination at the coves and beaches of Laguna Beach. Here you’ll view some of the most stunning beachfront homes built on the cliffs of Laguna Beach. One more glimpse of the coastline as you head back to Long Beach and the end of a breathtaking tour.

Natural Beauty Coastal Tour

For an unparalleled view of the Southern California coastline, you begin this tour at our heliport location in Long Beach and observe two of the busiest ports in the nation, Long Beach and Los Angeles. You continue flying along another port city, San Pedro, as you pass two historic monuments: the Korean bell of friendship and the Point Fermin lighthouse. One of the highlights of this breathtaking coastal tour is flying over the palatial homes of Palos Verdes Estates, Trump National Golf Course, and along the beautiful Palos Verdes peninsula. As you return to our heliport at the Queen Mary, you’ll be filled with inspiration and counting the days until you take your next tour.

Huntington Beach Surf Tour

From our Queen Mary heliport in Long Beach, you’ll fly South along the Southern California coastline past the magnificent oceanfront homes of Long Beach, Belmont Shores, the island residences of Naples, and the beach strand called the Peninsula. You’ll continue along to the city of Seal Beach and view more exquisite beachfront houses along the sand at the gated community of Surfside in addition to the city of Sunset Beach. Next you’ll be inspired to get your surfboards waxed up and ready to take off as you follow the coast along to the surfing areas of Bolsa Chica and the world famous surf city of Huntington Beach. You’ll finish your tour as you fly around the Huntington Beach pier and head back to the heliport at the Queen Mary.

Catalina Island Air Tours

See The Island in Style

Get a bird’s eye view of this enchanting Island.  Come fly with us for breathtaking views of the city of Avalon, the rugged Island interior, steep cliffs rising from the sea and Island wildlife.

You may see buffalo roaming the hills, eagles soaring on updrafts or dolphins playing just offshore.  Fly over historic sites like Middle Ranch and El Rancho Escondido, former home to the Wrigley Arabian horses and now a hillside vineyard.  Our 30 minute tour passes over the village of Two Harbors where the Island is a mere quarter mile wide.
